Psychological Approach & Experience

I am an integrative counseling psychologist, I am therapeutically trained in several disciplines including Psychodynamic theory, Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Existential Psychotherapy. I draw upon each of these theories to create a therapeutic experience that is unique to the client’s individual needs. 

 I have worked therapeutically with both individuals and groups. I have worked within various settings including hospitals; both outpatient and inpatient units, psychological  and welfare services, non-profit charitable organisations, schools, universities, and the prison service.

International Psychology Conference Dubai, UAE (IPCD) Presented on understanding how Suicidal and Para-suicidal behaviours present differently across varying diagnostic populations, and how to formulate the function of these behaviours and incorporate into effective treatment strategies.

November, 2016. International Psychology Conference Dubai, UAE (IPCD) Presented a Qualitative Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis, of UK prisoners experiences, of a forensic adaptation of a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy programme.

December, 2015. The Society for Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (SFDBT) International Annual Conference. Dublin, Ireland.  Poster presentation representing an Interpretive Phenomenological  Analysis of prisoners’ experiences of completing forensic DBT.
